Yes, they can have restrictions on Buffalo Router and wireless access points, but you should connect to the WAN port. Their router requires a static address for the AP you are trying to create if you connect to a LAN port, which they are not going to do. By pushing the reset button on the back of your router (which is probably in a small hole), you should first restore it to its factory default settings. To configure, connect a computer to the router's LAN port. Use wireless only after it is functioning properly.
