Alysia obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2010. She has spent the majority of her career caring for acutely and critically injured children after sustaining various burn injuries as well as plastic surgical management of burn survivors at Shriners Hospital for Children Boston. This wealth of experience has allowed Alysia to become an expert in the anatomy of the skin along with its critical supportive structures and healing properties, as well as mitigation strategies to avoid long term scarring.

While at Shriners, Alysia has collaboratively managed thousands of patients alongside nationally recognized MGH and Shriners Burn and Plastic Surgeons for nearly 18 years, gaining invaluable experience. In addition to working closely with highly skilled attending surgeons, Alysia has also had the opportunity to partner with several Harvard Plastic Surgery Residents and Fellows as they rotated through Shriners for their specialized training.
