Lara has nearly twenty years of experience as a corporate transactional attorney. Prior to joining GesmerUpdegrove LLP where she is currently a partner, she was a partner at FisherBroyles, LLP and served as chair of its Private Investment Funds Group and a member of the Fintech and Blockchain Group s executive committee; Vice President and in-house counsel at Wellington Management Company LLP, a global investment adviser; and an associate at WilmerHale LLP and Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP. Lara earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College where she graduated summa cum laude, and a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover.
