Founded in 1976 by brothers Ramesh Kumar Dua and Mukand Lal Dua in New Delhi with an initial investment of just Rs. 10,000, the company began with a single product: the iconic Hawaiian chappal, a simple rubber slipper that quickly captured the hearts of everyday Indians. Incorporated formally in 1984 as a private limited company and going public in 1995, Relaxo expanded rapidly, establishing its first manufacturing plant and diversifying into a portfolio of over 400 products across categories like sandals, slippers, sports shoes, and school footwear.
