Scioto Foundation

The Scioto Foundation, established in 1974, is a 501( c)( 3) not-for-profit area foundation based in Portsmouth, Ohio. It manages over 350 endowment funds produced by people, households, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations, all devoted to enhancing the lifestyle in Scioto County and the surrounding region. With assets going beyond $53 million, the foundation has awarded approximately $30 million in gives and scholarships since its beginning.

The foundation's goal concentrates on promoting philanthropy, giving sustainable funding to meet area requirements, and demonstrating leadership through joint partnerships. It supports a range of initiatives, including education, healthcare, neighborhood advancement, and the arts.

Key programs consist of Scioto 365, a participatory grant-making initiative targeted at cultivating vivid neighborhoods; Scioto Gives, a yearly online matching gift program sustaining regional nonprofits; and the University/College Access Network (UCAN), which assists students in planning, preparing, and financing their college education.
